Questions parents actually ask
Is it safe for a newborn?
There is no blade. A soft rotating pad wears the nail down rather than cutting it, so the worst it can do against skin is tickle. Use the softest pad for the first few months.
Will it wake them up?
It is designed to be used during a nap — that is the entire point of it. We have not published a decibel figure, because we do not yet have one from the manufacturer that we would stand behind. What we can point you to is the buyer reviews further down this page, where 'very quiet' and 'the baby doesn't get scared' come up again and again.
What if my baby won't hold still?
Most parents find it easier precisely because it does not need a still hand. There is no cutting edge, so a sudden movement means you miss the nail rather than catch the skin. Doing one or two fingers at a time is normal and fine.
Can I use it on myself?
Yes. The coarsest pad is intended for adult nails, which is why it tends to live in the changing bag rather than a drawer.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, and delivery across the United States takes 7–20 business days. Shipping is free. Those are the same windows as our published shipping policy — we would rather give you an honest range than an optimistic one.
What if it isn't right for us?
You have 30 days from delivery. Email us at nutrubabe@gmail.com with your order number and we will reply within 24 hours on business days with return instructions. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging. Our published refund policy governs, and it says the same thing.
Will I be charged customs or import fees?
No. All import duties and customs fees are included in the price you pay at checkout, so you will never receive a customs bill. If a carrier ever asks you for an import fee on a NurtuBabe order, please do not pay it — contact us and we will deal with it.
